The Young Ones

The Young Ones was first shown on BBC2 between Tuesday 9 November and Tuesday 14 December 1982. The second series aired on the same channel between 8 May and 1984. Both series were shown at 9pm - before I believe there was such a thing as the 9 o'clock watershed, but when the timing of such programmes was left to the grown-ups to decide when they should be shown.  It was a real hit with me and my brother and we used to lock our mum in the kitchen when it was on - well, not really lock, I mean she used to go into the kitchen when it was on... probably to sort her Avon order or something.
